The Income Tax Department are planning to make Birth
Certificate must for obtaining PAN card. Soon you need to enclose either your Birth
certificate with the other required documents. IT department has started an
exercise to mandate this proposal.
As per the department of income tax in most of economical scams
inappropriate PAN or falsification of PAN was found. As in many cases people
use ration card, electricity bills, or by falsifying other certificates.
Department hopes that after mandate of the Birth certificate,
getting of PAN by falsifying documents will be dropped down.
