PAN-SERIES 3 (Documents Required in respect of Form 49AA)

Form 49AA

Form 49 AA is used by Nonresident assessee for applying PAN
Form 49AA
·        Individual not being citizen of India
Ø  Proof of Identity, Proof of address
Copy of
a)       Passport
b)      PIO issued by govt. of India
c)      OCI card issued by govt. of India
d)      Other national citizenship identification number or TIN duly attested by “Apostille”
e)      Or By India High Commission or consulate in the country where the applicant is loacated.
f)        Bank account in  country of residence
g)      NRE  Bank account statement in India
h)       Certificate of residence in India or Residential permit issued by state police authority
i)       Registration certificate issued by foreign Registration office showing India address
j)       Visa granted and copy of appointment letter or contract from Indian company and certificate(in Original) or India address issued by the employer

1.    Abbreviation:


  1. PIO-Person of India origin
  2. OCI-Overseas citizenship of India card
  3. TIN-Taxpayer Identification number
  4. Apostille – in respect of Country which are signatories to the Hague Apostille Convention 1961
  5. NRE-Nonresident External Bank account in India

2.     LLP Registered Outside India, Company Registered Outside India ,Firm Formed and Registered Outside India
i.                 Copy of registration issued in the country where the applicant is located, dully attested by “Apostille” or by India High commission or embassy or consulate where the applicant is located.

ii.                Copy of Registration issued in India or of approval granted to setup office in India by India Authorities.
